BoardBreeze was founded by Grace Esteban MA Ed, a former Board Clerk at City College of San Francisco (CCSF) — one of the largest community colleges in California.

Grace didn't read about the board minutes problem in a market research report. She lived it. She sat through marathon board meetings that stretched past midnight. She spent days afterward transforming raw notes into polished, Brown Act-compliant minutes — cross-referencing motions with agenda items, verifying vote counts, and formatting everything for the board's consent agenda.

She looked for tools that could help and found that nothing existed. Board management platforms like Diligent and Boardable handle agendas and board packets — the pre-meeting workflow. But the most time-consuming part of a board clerk's job — documenting what happened during the meeting — had no technology solution at all.

So she built one.

BoardBreeze was purpose-built from the ground up for the specific requirements of public meeting minutes. It's not a generic transcription tool with a template on top. It understands motions, votes, action items, parliamentary procedure, and compliance requirements like the Brown Act and Robert's Rules of Order.
